Dear Friends,
Following up on the worldwide impact of The Book of Joy and the Mission: Joy movie, I have been invited to work on a new book with the Dalai Lama and Buddhist teacher Jinpa Langri, and we’d love your help! This book is envisioned as a travelogue to the mind and a universal introduction to mental training and meditation. It is meant for people of all faiths or no faith at all, secular, spiritual or religious, for anyone who wants to live with more joy and meaning.
In addition to sharing the Dalai Lama’s own meditation practice, the book will focus on how to turn one’s mind into an ally and how to confront the thorny challenges of everyday life with more serenity and success. The book is tentatively entitled How to Think: A Journey to Unleashing the Power of Your Mind.
We will be traveling to Ladakh later in July to tour monasteries, hold the dialogues, and create the book. We’d like to know what topics you are most interested in and will explore the most popular ones in the book. We’d love you to tell us what you’d most like to know about meditation and mind-training. Please go to the following link to share your topics and questions for the book.

P.S. In other exciting news, we have just sold an important and inspiring book on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict called The Future Is Peace by leading peace activists and guides, Aziz Abu Sarah, whose brother was killed in the Intifada, and Maoz Inon, whose parents were killed on Oct 7th.
Their book will be a 7-day journey through Israel-Palestine to share the mythic, political, and personal stories that divide and can heal this blood-soaked land, which is close to my and so many of our hearts. They believe strongly that it is naive to think that violence will ever lead to security and prosperity for either people, and that only by sharing our stories can we create a shared future. I deeply believe that our hearts must be big enough to hold all the pain and suffering on all sides.
We are fortunate to be working with the amazing team of Madhulika, David, and Gillian at Crown, a division of Penguin Random House. You can experience Aziz and Maoz’s powerful dialogue through this TED Talk, which has gone viral. More to come when the book is ready.
