IDEA ARCHITECTS, a leading non-fiction US literary agency, whose clients include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, The Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Bryan Stevenson, Elizabeth Blackburn, Edith Eger, John Gottman, Marc Randolph, BJ Fogg, and many other award-winning scientists and thought leaders, is pleased to announce the launch of a new division within their agency, IDEA ARCHITECTS: TRUE.
IA True will focus exclusively on inspirational and compelling memoirs and true stories that have the power to change hearts and minds with a combination of riveting narrative and transformative ideas. IA True is the brainchild of Idea Architects’ Editorial Director and COO, Lara Love Hardin, who has also collaboratively written 11 books for Idea Architects including four of their twelve New York Times Bestsellers, and the most recent Oprah Book Club pick, The Sun Does Shine (St. Martin’s). Love Hardin will be developing and agenting the books for IA True and is set to go out with her first submission in October.
“It is a real honor to be able to shepherd these stories into the minds and hearts of a wide audience. I love reading about ordinary people living extraordinary lives,” said Lara Love Hardin, “I’m thrilled to continue our company’s mission of creating a wiser, healthier, and more just world and to do so with this new category of gripping true stories.”
“Individual lives can reveal the nature of our world,” said Douglas Abrams, CEO of Idea Architects. “Books like Just Mercy, The Choice, and The Sun does Shine are not just riveting memoirs, they help us see the world anew. These books will offer true inspiration for our own lives and deep understanding of the challenges our world faces. Lara has skillfully helped shape the agency as our COO, and is not only a truly talented and gifted writer, she has an extraordinary, even uncanny, sense of what makes a great and bestselling story.”
As for all Idea Architects books, IA True’s worldwide translation rights will be handled by The Marsh Agency Ltd, London and UK rights by Abner Stein. Film and Television rights are handled by Sylvie Rabineau at William Morris Endeavor.
